Verses of the Week | July 20-26 2014

God is good. He showers me with grace and loves me when I find it hard to show love. He has put up with me even though I haven’t been as patient with other people. His grace has been raining down and washing over my mistakes.

During this week, I found it challenging to display patience and harder than usual to show grace. And because of this, His grace has been so evident. I began to realize that every breath I take, I am breathing in grace. I am constantly sinning against Him. But He is still here, loving me with an everlasting love.

This week, I finished reading through the book of Psalms. A few of my favorites for the week are from Psalms, most of the other verses go along with different things God has been teaching me.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Isaiah 46:4
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 145:16
You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

Psalm 143:8
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

Psalm 133:1
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!

James 4:13-15
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
