In the last post of my “To Be His” series, I wrote about characteristics that set Christ followers apart from the world. And if you haven’t read that post, I encourage you to go back and read through it because the Lord is teaching me great things. (Read Here: http://www.greatergaze.com/lessons-learned/we-are-different/ )
The lesson I have to share today is one of the biggest evaluations a Christ follower should be making.
Where does your satisfaction flow from?
I have constantly found God asking me this lately. And it’s not an easy question, but one that needs to be answered. You really have to dig deep to the bottom of your heart in order to find the answer.
We need to remember that everything we look to, other than Him, will eventually fall from our grasp. One way or another, things will pass away.
There are so many things in this life that make me happy. But no matter what, one day it will just be me standing before my Lord. And I hope that all my satisfaction will flow from Him, because if not, I will have lost everything important.
So does your satisfaction flow from Christ?
Is your relationship with Him more important than your relationship with everyone else? Is He your number one priority? And are you pursuing His kingdom or are you pursuing the way of the world?
Today, I encourage you to evaluate everything you find satisfaction in and make sure it’s glorifying to God. One day, you will stand before the Lord. The question is, where does that leave you?
