Breathtaking

There are some moments in life that are just beautifully breathtaking. Sometimes, these moments are the result of extraordinary adventures and events, and sometimes, they result from finding joy in the ordinary. Today, I want to share a few of the moments that take my breath away.

Exploring Creation takes my breath away. There is just a sense of serenity in saltwater air and misty mountains. I see my Creator in His vividly painted sunsets that stretch out across the skies and I see Him in the more ordinary, yet meticulously created leaves on the trees as they change textures and colors throughout the seasons. God is present in nature and I am more aware of His presence when I’m out exploring creation.

Genesis 1:31
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning – the sixth day.

The sound of beautiful Music takes my breath away. Music expresses emotion in a way that words alone cannot. And I’m not talking about just any music, because trust me, a lot of music is damaging to our hearts. I’m talking about music that speaks to the soul in a way that inspires us, especially music that inspires us to give our hearts more fully to our Risen Savior.

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

Witnessing smiles takes my breath away. A smile seems so simple, yet not simple at all. We always see people smiling in pictures on social media, but I am talking about true, genuine smiles that happen naturally without a camera. These are the types of smiles that bring joy to my heart. I recently decided to treasure each and every genuine smile that I see. When this type of true smile passes from one person to another, I see a glimpse of the purest joy pouring out from their heart, and that is something to treasure.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Finding true friendship takes my breath away. People in general take my breath away, but there is something so special about a friendship that I felt like I needed to center my thoughts around it. I have been blessed (and I mean REALLY blessed) with some of the most encouraging, inspiring, and loving friends in the world. These people have always stayed by my side, in the good and in the bad times. They have pointed me toward a God-centered focus (a GreaterGaze) and have played a huge role when it comes to spiritual growth. I encourage EVERY person to find and hold on to these type of friendships.

my final breathtaking moment is displayed through…… You. You take my breath away because You remind me that God is faithful. One year ago, when I felt the Lord calling me to start this blog, I would not have imagined that people from around the globe would be reading these blog posts from my little corner of the world. And I praise God for every single one of you because each view reminds me that God can and does use His people for His glory. I am thankful to be a part of His plan.

Ephesians 3:20-21
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

I find joy in each of these moments because my Creator placed passions in my heart. I have joy because He created joy. Our Creator is magnificent. He is breathtaking.
